Tip
Air fryer + Holéo: the perfect combo
The air fryer has revolutionized everyday cooking: fast, low in fat, crispy results. Add Holéo and you get the buttery flavor on top, without the drawbacks of butter. Here are our tips, quantities and recipe ideas.
Why Holéo is ideal for the air fryer
Butter is incompatible with the air fryer: it burns at just 130°C and produces smoke. Holéo handles cooking up to 170°C without smoking or breaking down, which covers the vast majority of air fryer uses.
Its specific advantages:
- Heat resistance: handles up to 170°C without smoking
- Liquid format: easy to measure and spread evenly
- Buttery flavor: delivers a golden, flavorful result, as if you had used butter
- Small amount needed: 1 to 2 tablespoons are enough for most preparations
The quantity guide
| Dish | Amount of Holéo | Temperature | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Homemade fries | 1 tbsp | 170°C / 340°F | 20-25 min |
| Roasted vegetables | 1 tbsp | 170°C / 340°F | 15-18 min |
| Chicken (thighs) | 2 tbsp | 170°C / 340°F | 25-28 min |
| Baby potatoes | 1.5 tbsp | 170°C / 340°F | 22-25 min |
| Breaded fish | 1 tbsp | 160°C / 320°F | 12-15 min |
| Croutons / toast | 1 tbsp | 160°C / 320°F | 5-8 min |
Tip #1: Brush rather than pour
For optimal coverage, use a pastry brush to coat your food with Holéo before placing it in the basket. This is more effective than pouring directly: every surface will be covered evenly and the result will be uniformly crispy.
Tip #2: Shake halfway through
For fries and vegetables, shake the basket halfway through cooking and add a drizzle of Holéo. The food will be golden on all sides while remaining tender inside.
Tip #3: The buttery finishing touch
Add a final drizzle of Holéo as soon as food comes out of the air fryer, directly onto the hot food. The buttery aroma will be more pronounced because it will not have been altered by cooking. This finishing touch makes all the difference.
Tip #4: Quick marinades
Mix Holéo with your favorite spices to create quick marinades before air frying:
- Cajun chicken: 2 tbsp Holéo + smoked paprika + garlic powder + thyme
- Mediterranean vegetables: 1.5 tbsp Holéo + herbes de Provence + salt + pepper
- Golden potatoes: 1.5 tbsp Holéo + rosemary + fleur de sel
Marinate for 10 minutes before placing in the air fryer. The result: fragrant, golden food with an irresistible buttery flavor.
Tip #5: Quick baking in the air fryer
The air fryer can bake too! Muffins, cookies or mini cakes cook in 10-12 minutes at 160°C / 320°F. Replace the butter in the recipe with Holéo (60 ml for 100 g of butter) and place individual molds directly in the basket. The result is soft and golden.
Easier cleanup
An often-overlooked benefit: because Holéo is a pure vegetable oil, it leaves fewer residues in your air fryer than butter. No caramelized sticking, no burnt-on mess that's hard to clean. A simple wash with soapy water is all it takes.
